Difficulty Level: Easy - great first time build

The Pram comes in 8’ model to be used to sail, rower, or power with a small gas motor (2.5hp) or electric. The PEP rows with incredible easy, makes a good motor tender, and will provide stable sailing in a small package.

The 9’6” Calico Skiff is a very nice rowing skiff that can also motor and sail. Often built for all 3 attributes, this can be built simply for rowing as a stable, seaworth tender or a small, stable rower for protected waters.

The 12' Echo Bay Dory Skiff originally came to us as a rowing skiff. She won a local rowing race repeatedly and caught our attention. She is fast and unbelievably seaworthy...and beautiful, of course. Two layouts are optional on the EBDS, one with enclosed, plywood seats for buoyancy (tanks) and the other with varnished, Pine or Mahogany seats.

Building level: Beginner and up

This is a dedicated rowing version of the Caravelle, longer and sleeker than the sailing version as well as a more optimal shape for performance under oars alone. Easy-to-build with our novel Tab-n-Lock system and light weight! She is fast yet retains the naturally seaworthy dory-skiff hull form.

Status: Prototype in development - full release in late 2024

This 16’ rowing dory is tailored after the classic Swampscott style dories with a more modern hull development and utilizing our trademark dory-kit construction methods. She will take a bunch of people and row solo with ease on lakes, rivers and the ocean. The beauty of a Dory is that they are versatile, seaworthy and excellent rowers.

The original that started it all. The D17 has been redesigned since the original to be the most advanced kit on the market. She is an ideal fixed-seat, single rowboat that offers a fine turn of speed and supreme seaworthiness.

Based on the successful Drake 17 model, the D19 offers the capacity and power for two strong rowers who wish to go out for a fun row after work, win races on weekends or cruise. A layout for expeditions is available as well.

Difficulty level: Intermediate and up

The Drake Raceboat is the latest in the Drake Series, featuring lightweight, racing performance, but you don't need to be a racer to enjoy this boat. She is pure joy to row.

Building level: Intermediate

The DRB 20 is a sliding-seat or fixed-seat, lightweight rowing boat that can take you to an islands and to the finish line. Designed to go fast but still handle choppy conditions and be able to do some light cruising. Nate’s DRB 20 has taken him to 11th place in the grueling Seventy-48 race in WA. When not racing, he is taking his girlfriend out on picnics and rowing the beautiful coast of British Columbia.

Difficulty Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

A number of D-Street Dories are used primarily as rowing craft. Like the classic Swampscott Dory, the DSD makes a great rowboat with tremendous secondary stability. With enough capacity for two and gear, the DSD makes a great camp cruising boat for two rowers.

We have permission from the Steever family to develop kits for this incredible St. Lawrence River Skiff. She will be offered at first in strip-built construction and later in plywood-lapstrake construction. Uncle Andy Steever studied these skiffs more than anyone and developed this model as the penultimate Skiff utilizing modern construction methods and materials. Also in the kit development queue are three other Skiffs.

This fast rowboat by Clint Chase is based on Jon Aborn’s Wherry design. He developed 6 versions of this boat and rowed it in many races always placing top 3. He has graciously allowed us to redesign and improve upon his work. Our version will have a touch more stability but the same turn of speed as his boat and of course we will offer complete kits for her.
